provider in Grand Rapids for over fifteen years.
A.S.I.D. coordinator of a committee of volunteers who designed the interiors, for Liz’s
House, which is a homeless shelter for women and young children in Grand Rapids.
A.D.P.S.R. held a design competition for a homeless shelter for families in the late 1980’s that
resulted in 78 families being given shelter in the first year it was open.
Green Issues Teaching students sustainability as part of Studios, Emerging Materials, and Materials class.
Working with A.D.P.S.R. and the Home Builders Association on the issues beyond recycling for
building for a cleaner environment. Some issues include: retention of farmland and designs
that promote the conservation of energy, such as: designing for cross ventilation, using ceiling
fans and purchasing local products.

Program marketed statewide. The DOS based computer program allows the designer to enter
items onto a database and then produce budgets, item specifications sheets (to put products
our for bid), purchase agreements, purchase orders and product invoices from one entry. The
program calculates discounts and pricing information accurately.
Continuing Education Two CEU’s have been written about the paperwork of interior design for ASID and IIDA that
need to be revised and filed for accreditation.
